I was in home depot today to pick up some plug ends, walking down the main isle that is full of Christmas impulse buy tool stuff and I saw this bit set for $15. So I impulse grabbed it because I need some new bits anyway. It even has the square drive socket adapters for my impact driver. I don't know if you can buy just those for $15.

There probably just cheap bits but for 15 bucks I'll just toss em when they wear out.

Congrats on the steal! Like you said, they are basically disposable, but you paid basically nothing for them! Chuck

I view most bits as disposable anyway, lol. I'm sure I'll get some use out of them before I toss them. But ryobi stuff has surprised me in the past. I'm still using some of their old blue tools and I just cant seem to kill them. My dewalt drill smokes from time to time and I paid a lot more for it, so well see.........

Bits are consumables like sawzall blades and jigsaw blades and sandpaper. Once the corner is rounded, THROW it away. I work with construction screws constantly. I will never hesitate to change bits if I have a slight skip. The DeWalt vs Ryobi is not an issue. If it isn't made in Germany or the US and impact driver ready, it is going to wear. I probably buy a hundred dollars or more yearly in driver bits even with many screws supplying a bit in the box.
