I created a thread a little bit ago looking for numerous species, including Blue Mahoe. But now I've mostly sourced all the other wood I need for the time being, with the exception of Blue Mahoe. I still cannot find Blue Mahoe anywhere. Supplies seem to have dried up online, except for 1 supplier who only sells small turning blanks (I've already bought several pieces from them).

I'm looking for Blue Mahoe in basically anything larger than a pen blank, all the way up to live edge slabs. I only want blue or blue-gray Mahoe - no green or brown and no excessive sapwood unless the price is representative of the usable heartwood. Anyone have any their personal stash that they would want to part ways with?

You might try contacting Key West Woodworks in Key West, FL. Their website references a number of tropical exotics and they may have or know where you can get some blue mahoe. It does grow down in the Keys, but so does crabwood, tropical almond, sapodilla and jamaica dogwood.

Thanks I'll give them a shout

Check Oakbrook wood turning supply. They show it in stock.
That's the supplier I mentioned in the original post. They only have tiny piece of it. And I already bought some of those tiny pieces.

Got a reply pretty quick from a Jimmy Wray. He said he sold his mill to a guy named Mike and the business is now called 'Mamas Rock and Sand' (appears to be a nursery/ garden supply store). Jimmy said to check with them, so I sent them a message. But I'm doubting this will lead anywhere.

Also just joined the International Wood Collectors Society in hopes of sourcing this (and other) wood :impatient:
