Can any of you spin artist make me a couple of these? About 3/4 diameter and 2" long. If you just make a centered hole I can glue in the shank.

I am looking for 2, one with the "grooves" at 1/8 and 1/16" wide and another with 1/4", and 3/8" wide

This one is cocobolo. But I really don't care, anything that is reasonably hard is OK. Maybe even some tricked out stabolized stuff.....

Thanks,

Neil

@NeilYeag - Would they be shipping overseas or to a US address? If you can let me know the shaft size I can knock something out int he next week or so. I've got some Cocobolo or other rosewoods I can use.

Very cool. No shipping would be to my USA office. 92122. They forward to me. No big hurry, one of those things, when you get around to it is OK. The shank size is 1/8" for the Dremel.

Thanks again.

On the edges of leather items. I use them for knife sheaths and the like. But any where one wants to get the edges perfectly smooth and glossy. Generally the edges are sanded to get them smooth and then wet, and sometimes applied with other treatments or perhaps just soap and then burnished. I have always just done it by hand, but just got a new dremel so I wanted to try this way. Plus I think these look cool! Always a good reason to have another tool right?

Really if the edges are done right you cant even see the seams where the two leather sections meet.

@Schroedc Can you turn one more for me. My wife does all my sheath work and burnishes by hand. Let me know the cost and I will send it to you.

It is interesting, for exotics like alligator, crocodile, snake and the like, they usually use a heat tool kind of looks like a soldering iron to do this. I only work with exotics as inserts and accents though. But for sure a lot of wallets, handbags, and belts are made here in exotic leathers. Just have to be careful with some of it because US customs will snag it for sure if you bring some things back to the states.

@Schroedc We got the Dremel Burnishers today and my wife loves them. Great quality. Is it possible that you could make one more with 7/16", 1/2" 9/16" width?

Of course. Also, tell your friends and relatives, I'd love to make more :sarcastic:
