Perhaps this belongs in the Automated Woodworking Machines Forum, but I did also make the frame for i from Angelique.
Anyway, George Duke has always been one of my favorite jazz/funk artist, composers, & producers. He was influenced byLatin music and by his early years playing with Frank Zappa. I created this piece for an art exhibit mainly on my laser burner with the initial idea of cutting out pieces of different colored wood and putting them together ala mosaic. I ran out of time to meet the deadline so I opted to just engrave it on Birch ply using my new Xtool S1. Color was applied using a combination of watercolor and watercolor pencils. The concept is based on the cover of his album “A Brazilian Love Affair”. Not knowing what to title it, I decided to use the tile of one of his famous songs - “ Dukey Stick”.
