Hi,
My name is Jonathon and I'm very new to woodbarter.com. My vision in this wild world of wood is to meet new friends and trade chunks of wood with them.

I just received my first message from Don in Maui! Wow! And I've only been a member for 25 minutes!

So here it goes, I have this chunk of Black Walnut that was cut from my father in laws tree during a trimming. I would love to send this out to someone and have something sent back (wood chunk wise).

I have no expectations on what wood I want, I just want something. I guess it's kinda like playing wood craps.

The piece is 12" long by 3" in diameter.

Oh...that would be good bottle stoppers or pen material. Or reeeeeally small candy bowls....

How long ago was it cut?

It was cut about a year ago. It's been drying out of the elements in my garage.

I did take one of the logs and cut some boards out of it. Was able to get some knife scales out of it to make this years Father's Day gift from my kids, they got me a knife kit from rockler.

Here is the walnut on my knife.
