How the heck do you get the ID taper correct?!

Prayer.

And for a former believer/Sunday school teacher and now skeptic, I'm not sure how to guide you on that one. :sarcastic2:

Actually it's pretty easy. I will see if I can find the pics for a classroom thingy.

I am pretty sure the only critical dimension is at the top, the rest is just a loose fit . I am sure Kevin will have the answer but that is how I read the instructions. Oh by the way the instructions are a free download on the Rockler site, while looking for kits I found some are charging for them. $9-$12 is about the price range for the kits I have found so far. I know I can buy a complete cup for less than that next time I am big box store shopping I am going to look for cups that look like they can be demoed for parts.

I've seen somewhere - maybe here - a thread where a guy did that. It was a plastic liner he gutted and to me it looked cheap and low rate. Maybe you can get lucky and find one with a ss liner that you can take out but Iif you do I can't imagine it costing less than $10. Keep us posted though.

Plastic would definitely not have the same appeal however given my record of loosing and destroying travel mugs it might be the best choice for my personal mug. In fact I probably should stick with the free ones with advertising printed on the side of them. Last one I wrecked was last fall, drove my truck to the woods, put the tailgate down, gassed up the saw, and set my coffee mug on the rear tractor tire. I bet you can guess what I did. Frist time ever for a mug I usually do that with my sunglasses.
