**ENDED** Ebony log section

I got my Ebony log yesterday! Thanks Josh! I't in great shape so far, no visible cracks at all. I'm going to have to study it for a while before I decide what to do with it, I really like the sapwood look on ebony so I might try and make some natural edge things from it, I really appreciate all the hassle you went through to get this to me, I owe you one buddy! :thanx2:

No problem! My wife loved the vase so I truly appreciate the trade! I'll be interested to see what you do with it! I think it's still fairly green so it may take some time to dry but I'm certain you will figure something especially awesome to make with it! Thanks again Barry!

I just cut the only one I had in el paso up yesterday. It's some darn hard stuff! Did your log check alot once cut up?
Yea it did. I turned one small HF from the log, (showtime soon) and the other chunk started checking pretty bad, I should have sealed it better, So I cut it into blocks, still have lots of nice sized usable pieces. I'm pretty sure it's African Blackwood BTW.

I wasn't totally sure what it was. I just knew it was really black and very hard. Sorry it checked on you a bit. I hope you can still put alot of it to use.

No need for apologies Josh, it was mostly my negligence that to allowed it to check, I am more than happy with our deal, in fact, I feel like I skinned you:sarcastic:

Well both I and my wife liked the vase so I think it was fair! I was just hoping you felt the log was worth the vase to be honest. It's a pretty neat vase!
