I know this isn't directed at me only, but put together a medium FRB of goodies for me to look at and I'll be happy to reciprocate. I'll sell some to you but I'm more interested in wood than money. I never hold money in my hands and stare at it. I do that with wood every day.

Okay I get it. Maybe it would be better to park this website until I get all my ducks in a row. You may have a very valid point.

I'm new to this forum....but....I have FBE to offer. I'll show a picture of a few pieces. My neighbor was cutting firewood and saw the red color, so he brought me 9 pieces because he knows I buy and sell wood. 9 pieces. Each 20" long and a couple as big as 28" in diameter. This is about 1/4 of 1 piece. I added mineral oil for effect.

Welcome to the forum Jim. If you buy and sell wood is there anything particular you may be looking for to satisfy a client or would just like to have, or are you just looking to sell?

RE: FBE-Bowl blanks

I have sveral pieces of the stump. I also went back with a friends backhoe and dug out the root ball last night. I most probably will use a large portion of the root ball as a large turned vessel.

I guess all my verbage translates to I have quite a bit of the wood and could possibly cut custom size bowl blanks for you guys. As long as you understand that it is green....Jim

Jim, welcome aboard. As far as turning it goes, green FBE is much much more fun to turn and lots less sanding.

Not to be rude but there is still the question of what or how much for it.

Yes I guess it's time for a refresher course in the rules here. Bikerjim, if you read the rules, and I don't doubt that you have, JMC still has "first refusal' on anything you offer for trade or sale because this is his thread and he has not closed out a trade here.

bigcougar of course you or anyone else can still post just as long as you understand that JMC still gets to pick from the litter first, even if that means ALL of the litter if he and BJ work a deal like that.

I don't think there's a problem with any of that here either way but since biker jim is new, and it is human nature not to read the rules (the only reason I did was because I wrote them, so I was sort of forced to :pleasantry: ) I thought maybe it would be a good time to remind us woodaholics the order of the universe so to speak. I'll go back inside my cave now y'all have fun.

Not to say you are wrong but we do have a deal from the begining, we just havn't fulfilled it yet. I would still like some of Jim's though.

Don't make it more complex than it already is.

Thank you Kevin. I'm not new to rules or Forum participation, and I don't appreciate the way this was handled. I feel like an idiot.

I'll be back when I feel better about this whole thing.

Jim I can assure you that there were no ill intensions here, I have been associated with the moderators here for over a year now through woodworkingtalk.com. I love and live by your signature because if I didn't I would be pissed off all the time and I'm sure others would be the same with me. This is a great community and I'm proud to be a part of it.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum Jim. If you buy and sell wood is there anything particular you may be looking for to satisfy a client or would just like to have, or are you just looking to sell?

In particular, I'm looking for Red Jarrah pen blanks. I haven't seen much of it for sale. I use it to make pens, I'll inlay just about anything with it because of its beauty.
Black and white Ebony with about equal parts of black and white.
Good clean white curly or quilted maple with fairly tight curl and good and white.

Now you know what I need.

To answer your question, I have finders fees out on anything that they think I could use. I sometimes pay them if the wood is no good just to keep em comin back. I have operators from three different tree services that keep their eyes open.:bomb:
