Large walnut- You will have to be patient if you want a better look-I cannot move myself. Roy wanted to see large boards. Bottom 1 3/4 x 20" x 9' and 4" above it is wider and at least as long. Tape is on bottom board.

Oh yeah that's gonna be a nice one. I didn't take any pics of the walnut I milled last week but I'm fixing to mill some more and will take pics also. If I wasn't covered up in walnut I'd be trying to get some of that.

I finaly got this to load- no clue as to problem- these are very large boards- I think the bottom 4" is 50 bd ft plus- it also may be figured I need to get at it to tell. Sorry for lack of info above I reduced info and pics and it finaly went. No drooling rRoy- I told you not to pick on me. :diablo::diablo:

Is this from the same tree that the 19" board came from? Just wondering if this one has all the curl that board did? Either way, great stuff!

David- No it is not the same tree- different yard same area. This is strangely striped at least this bottom board that as you see is 20"+ wide and actually 1 7/8 thick. if you would like to see the next board up 4"x17"-22" I think it has figure also also there are 2 1/2' and other in pile. I do have the suckers- opps I mean kids coming this weekend!!

Roy, i thought you might like this pic- When I went out there and put a quick hand plane on it I thought about our ribbon mahogany conversation earlier. This has a lot of color in those stripes.

Don't go moving boards around on my account... I'm happy to wait until those beauties make their way to the top of the stack. Plus, you know I'm going to want to cut it into squares and eventually rounds anyway which seems like a waste or such big beautiful boards... Any chance you've got some 'shorts' for us turners?

I have the short from the original boardand also have some various thick boards in odd shapes. But as far as cutting them up I have 6-7 of the same boards you bought but 4/4 same width.I have the 2000 bd ft in the shed- the bottom 4/4 bds are some more puny 18"x4/4x10'+ bds Then we have the 500' in the pile out in the yard next to the 2x10 and 4/4 white oak pile- these two piles were supposed to go in shed but I filled shed before I moved them- Now hopefully you are getting the right picture- but I will make it clearer-right at the moment and for the foreseeable future I am overrun with the damn stuff- at the rate that I consume it- I will never be able to go on the quest to find more.:yipee::yipee: I was very happy to see it go to people that love it as much as me. I also love to see finished projects. Also what the hell will I do with them other than cut them up- Kathie is very understanding but I got a feelin-in fact a pretty strong one- that she will not let me store them in house- she is funny that way.............

Hi....

I can't really tell if this thread has died or not, but that walnut is beautiful.... I love the stripes.

I'm a turner..... do you have anything thicker, like 10/4 or better? Doesn't have to be really wide, my lathe will only turn 12" chunks.....

Thanks,
Joe
