2" x 6 5/8" x 12 1/2" Sipo is almost exactly like sapele, which is better known. In fact, I often can't tell them apart. Both are fairly similar to African mahogany (sapele has "sapele mahogany" as one of its common names). This piece is ribbon stripe on the quartersawn side grain and perfectly flat cut on the face. This piece would make 2 small bowls.
I didn't sand down either face, just one side so you only get a hint here of what nice grain this has.
