**ENDED** Spalted Walnut Flitch Very rare MEMORIAL DAY SALE

This is the small sister to a piece my wife claimed and is making me make her a hall table with. It's quite rare to find walnut with spalted sap that is still very hard. All I've done to this piece is power wash off the rotten bark and what little punky sap there was, and ran it through the planer. 60.4" x 11" (at widest) x 7/8" thick. As usual pictures suck compared to what it really looks like - guess I'll never learn how to get the most out of this great camera.

To show how this piece can look here's a peek at the piece my wife claimed. Don't ask to buy this one unless you want to see me hand by my neck until I am dead. I have a little less than 4 hours in this piece forming the rough edges where it was punky to make it look natural where it was "chunked" off from the power wash, then sanded to 220. I will take this to at least 600 because although the pictures don't really show it, these pieces have a LOTof stuff to pop.

This is one of the rare times I have actually sketched a design for this table because I saw it right away as I took this off the log. It's going to be interesting to say the least. I'm afraid if I'm able to pull off the design the trestle arrangement may actually over power the wood itself, but I'm going to do it anyway.

So anyone interested in the little sister can have it for the incredibly low price of only $75 BUT! If you order before midnight I will also pack the box with other fun stuff.

Seriously this is a very low price IMO just try to find another one like it (except my wife's). Yes darnit I will consider a trade for something incredibly spectacular. :dash2:

Oh if it were only thicker :dash2::dash2: I'd love to fill the void with a shimmering burgandy metallic epoxy With that walnut color and figure it would be awesome. Give it some steroids to grow to 2"-3" thickness It is a beauty

Oh no you aren't seeing it properly. Mrs. Kevin's is 1.25" but it is much longer. This shorty will look glorious thin and all. If you change your mind let me know because you will not pay near that price since you do so much business with me.

My friend you are absolutely correct. The truth is that the vast majority of the delicious wood I have purchased on Wood Barter has been stashed to age to a more delectable taste. There are about 20 Pepper Mills in the drying stage waiting for a 2nd turning and others slabs in the works but 99% of what I'm using is from previous inventory BWB (before Wood Barter). I promise that I will be attacking the WBWood in the next few months. Then you will be inundated with pics.
