**ENDED** Stabilized Mango Burl

I am working my way through some Mango Burl I got from the Rebuilds and made these two pieces today. They measure 5 to 2 1/2 wide by 6 1/4 long x 1 1/8 and 1 1/4 thick (sold to BassBlaster). I stabilized them and they are dry and ready to use for pens, knife scales or ? I am asking $13 (price reduced on 6/18 from $17) for the 1 1/8 pc. Shipping will be $6.

They are shown wetted with some DNA.

Eric these look great! I like the contrast with the bark still on. I would like to trade for a stabilized 4x4x1 or a bookmatched set of 2x4x1 if you have any left.

Yeah Rob, I have a bunch of wood as the burl you shipped me was pretty big! Did you want the live edge, or a true 4x4x1 piece from anywhere within the burl?

Rob, all I have stabilized right now is the one listed on this thread and the one below. The one below is 3 5/8" wide x 5 1/4 to 4 1/2 (cut edge to live edge) x 1 5/16, I have more I can stabilize in the next week or two. Just let me know. Eric

...Mostly I want some for display to show off our wood and what our customers can do and make with our ugly FL wood. I want to have a display showing services available items like your bangles and stabilization service. Johns calls, cougars veneering etc.

Where is this display gonna be, Rob? Do you two have a retail store or something in the area? I'm just wondering in case I ever find an excuse to be in that part of Florida... I'd plan to bring my wallet and a stack of prepaid shipping boxes!

We do not have a retail brick and mortar location of our own "yet". We do have lumber yard for milling and air drying. We have dried lumber at a local old school lumber yard, Anderson Lumber here in St Petersburg. Our stock is growing at Anderson too include turning stock, a completed product display as well as slabs.

We have most of the really good stash at home and your wallet is welcome here too. :rofl2:

Oh yeah! I wanna shop in the living room!:hookup:

Actually, what I'd like to do is put my lathe on a trailer and haul it to St. Pete and see how far into the wood piles I could make it... What's something like that gonna set me back?

Here is one more piece of Mango Burl that I stabilized and dried this weekend and finished up tonight. Ok, ok, Yes I got a little excited about how pretty this wood is and decided to put the chunk in my table top photo studio. But just so you all know, I did not fiddle with these pictures AT ALL. No boosting colors, cropping or sharpening the image. These are raw pics of the burl (which has a little tung oil applied).

I have about $20 in stabilizing this piece, and I figure another $13 for the wood for a total of $33 + shipping.

The Burl measures 5.5 x 3.75 x 3.5 to 6 with a rounded live edge on the backside (makes is hard to measure). It is almost too pretty to cut up!:wacko1: Enjoy :irishjig:
