Myself and Andrew are currently working out a trade. I will be making, finishing and trading a finished fractal burned bowl in exchange for mesquite bowl blanks. Pics will be posted as soon as the details are worked out.

This is an example of the fractal woodburned bowl:

I'm excited about this trade! I'll post some skeet when I get home tonight!

I cut a couple of skeet cookies for ya tonight. They are both at least 4" thick at the narrowest point (mostly 4.5-5") and at least 6" thick across the heartwood (I assume you'll turn off the bark and most of the sapwood). Not much to look at at this stage, but I think they'll look great once you turn 'em and burn 'em!

There is also one more blank not pictured here if you want it. It came from the same log and is about 4" thick at narrowest as well. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to ship these for a reasonable rate since a FRB isn't going to work.

You are correct. I haven't traded any of my fractal bowls with anyone...... but for more bowl blanks it is always an option....

Sounds good to me....
I'm planning on making 20 yarn bowls for the November show and my bowl blank stock is kinda thin.....
Andrew, toss it in and I'll send ya a completed fractal bowl and a camphor bowl blank.... because I know u like my camphor wood.

I entered into this trade with @El Guapo a little while back. I had a nice maple winged bowl turned and did my fractal woodburning on it as per the trade agreement. Unfortunately I must have allowed that little bowl enough time to spread it's wings because it spread them and took flight..... in several pieces across the woodshop. Anyways, I turned another maple bowl and put the frankenfractal machine to work and got this bowl burned. I decided to play with some aniline wood dye and all I can say is.... "Bring on the Funk!!"
Andrew, the finish still has to be applied but if you like it then it is yours my friend. If you prefer something a little less funky fresh just let me know. I plan on making several bowls in the next week or so with the fractal/dye combo......

I think next time instead of using a black dye along the rim I will use the torch and char the edges and top if the rim and then sand is back to my liking..... live and learn....

glad ya like it..... I was going for a sunburst look....... like I said, next time I will try it with the torch and see how it comes out..... I'm betting it will be even sweeter than this one. I will let ya know when it ships..... I have about 25 more bowls to turn for the show coming up Nov 21st so I'm in the shop about 8-10 hours a day 6 days a week right now. Of course after bowls come the ornaments, pens, bottlestoppers, and the rest of the smaller items....... no pressure right? lolol
