im looking to trade for 4 lighter colored cocobolo burl pen blanks, for mine
2 quilted sapelle
2 stabilized York gum burl
2 red mallee burl
2 figured bocote
1 briar burl
1 stabilized 2 tone curly ash
1 stabilized ambrosia maple

Thanks for the tag, Norm. I have figured coco, but no burl. @woodintyuuu and @duncsuss are the only two that I've ever seen with coco burl, but I think Duncan is the only one who would have a need for pen blanks.
 
I've just bought some more from Cliff, and would be willing to make a trade with you @Bill_LFW -- but I don't have them yet. Are you in a huge hurry to get them? (Should be with me in just a few days -- right now I only have one and a half.)
 
@Bill_LFW -- are you still looking to make this trade?

I have to look at the pieces I've got and take some pix, I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "lighter colored".

Also -- what size blanks are you looking for? (Minimum dimensions, I figure if they are bigger that just means you get to stand at the lathe a few extra minutes :sarcastic:)

yes Duncan,2x 5/8x5, 2x3/4x5, lighter orange to red, Mexican cocobolo burl?, maybe show you cocobolo burl in a picture and will go from there.
 
Tomorrow I'll see what I have -- not sure that it fits your color request, but I'll leave that decision to you.
 
These are the "most orange" of the burl pieces I've got. Shortest is 5", longest is almost 7". The shortest has one dimension a smidge under 3/4" (but larger than 5/8), all the others are closer to 7/8. Pix from all 4 faces in bright sunshine, I didn't wet them or anything.

Is your "private conversation" function not enabled yet? (it might be one of those things that the moderators have to enable once it's clear that you aren't a spambot).
