**ENDED** Wood for pepper mill?

Just occurred to me that I might need to be in the finished item forum for this trade. I'm sure some nice admin will fix it if it needs fixin'.

I haven't done the exposed gear/crank top type of mill, so put me in 8th place(or lower). The instructions look pretty straight forward, but it's probably best that you go with somebody who has done one. If you get stuck without a taker, I'm sure I could muddle through one for you.

Sorry, Keller, but no way you can rank yourself at 8th place or lower - even if you haven't made a crank style mill. Not when you've made mills like this one.

Sorry for the crappy picture. The fluorescent lights in my office make it look yellow - but in person it has the color that maple is supposed to have.

@kris stratton here's one pepper mill blank. It is 2-5/8" square x 8-3/4"(that includes the live ends. If I cut them square, it will only be around 4". Let me know what you think. Might make a nice cast. It's about 10% moisture content right now but that's just in one side. The rest read less than 6. Oh, small inclusion you'll see in first picture. 20150805_142934.webp 20150805_142945.webp

And here's the rest of the stuff I came up with for the trade. Lrfb with my mill material plus that Russian olive pm blank, all the live edge material you see pictured here plus a couple other nice surprises I squeezed in. For size reference, the carpenter's square in the picture is 24"x16". 20150805_143852.webp 20150805_144005.webp
