Hey Dave, I am interested, but the spalted woods I have done really soak up the resin (100%+ of the starting weight). I can stabilize pieces as big as 7" x 7" x 7". How wet is your wood? I am interested in burls and spalt.

hey eric stabilizeings new stuff to me all these peices are fresh but drying there all under 7x7x7 if i cut the big one in half . dont really know what it cost to stabilize them wood wise but i got wood let me know what you would need in exchange thanks duckman

Dave, I charge $8/pound for stabilizing and the wood is weighed after the blocks are cured. For most dry woods, this would be about the weight of the wood plus about 30%. For spalted, dry wood it can be as much as the weight of the wood times two. It all just depends. I can stabilize wet wood too, but prefer to wait until the MC is less than 10%. I am looking for good bangle stock or bottle stopper/pen blanks. So burls or other interesting small blocks of wood are perfect. Post some pics of what you have to trade, and we can work it out:good2: Oh, how much wood are you looking to get stabilized?
