Finish for Thuya Burl Pen

What is good finish for Thuya Burl pen? I read it's rather oily so not sure how well a CA finish would do? Thanks.

If you give it a good wipe with acetone immediately beforehand, you should be able to get CA (or other finish) to stick.

I agree with Henry, wash good with acetone and you will be able house CA as a finish. I done this process on many oily blanks.

Agreed with the above. But, to be honest, when I was still turning pens, I would wipe down every pen with acetone prior to a CA finish. If it's an oily wood, I kept wiping until the paper towel came off clean - then immediately applied my CA finish. (Or any other finish.)
