Need a nice grade A piece of Walnut Burl to turn a bowl from. A special request from a dear older gentleman at church. Thought I had some but I don’t so shoot me a pic and price.

Thanks for the tag but I don't have any. The walnut burl that I should have already is still standing in the creek bottom on the farm.

How big of a piece do you need?

Have a slab of kiln dried Walnut Burl in 10” wide by 3” thick. Can post pics, if interested. Would be pricey.

Found the slab and it’s actually 16/4, not 12/4. 21” x 10” x 4” thick. Would be willing to cross/-cut in-half. Each piece would be right at 3 BF (+/-). I took the best pics I could in my basement with the wood (mostly) wetted. Would like $30/board ft plus shipping.
Unfortunately, I can’t find anything similar for sale in Walnut Burl-4” thick, kiln dried so I’m not exactly sure what the market price would be. Has a few cracks/knots, etc., but, it is Burl wood after all.

I’m assuming it’s a fairly rare find. I can take better pics (outside) if you want to pursue a piece. Thanks.

First pic, the bottom half is like to see both sides better. Looks like that split runs all the way through in the 2nd pic.
Thanks!
Brian

I'll get it outside and get some better pics Brian. Might be tomorrow(?). I think I also have a piece of Elm burl bowl blank I need to find. Thanks

That would be awesome to get both pieces I need in one shipment! I’ve learned to be patient over the years so no rush!
Thanks!!

Brian - here’s a few more pics I took outside this afternoon. None of the cracks are “through” the slab as far as I can tell. Also tried to give you a decent shot of the void in one edge. Let me know if you need anything else to help you decide. photos of both sides; both ends and both sides. More burly on end with void. Thanks.
