Help Finding A Part.

I scored a great deal on a Stanley #78 Rabbet plane, it's in great shape but I need a depth guide for the right side of it. These seem to be the Holy Grail of the #78, and any suggestions to find them would be great. I need the guide and the thumb screw for it. Thanks Guys!!

I thought so too Mike, but the ones on Ebay that have the depth guide on them have prices that are way too much to pay just to get the guide. I'm talking hundreds of dollars. I think some of the other guides would work, just not sure which ones.. Thanks man!

I went and checked it out and they are getting 18-20 bucks for the gauge itself. Another 18-20 for the thumb screw! mine also needs a fence it looks like they make a kit for that. Fir around 40 bucks you can get set up with the fence also.

I was not suggesting buying a whole plane but as Greg pointed out- watch for the individual parts- especially in group of parts.

That's what I'm going to do, with the deal I got on the plane, I could spend a little more on the guide, they seem to be a little more scarce than the fence attachment. I'm planning on using the plane and not using it for a display piece.

That is an awesome link. I never would have thought you could get parts straight from Stanley. In briefly looking at that page you can get parts cheaper there than on ebay!

by the looks of it they are making a killing!! Unless shipping is doing them in they are marking stuff up 10x over.
