Sorry guys,,, I thought I said 4/4 slabs 12x12 will be cut for knife scales... eventually enough for like 15 sets ,, and also will need like a 8.5x1.5x1.5 blank as well. a large bowl blank would be good and I can cut it down myself
Hickory burl is a tough nut to crack... 
Spalted hickory or bird peck hickory is easier but often hard to find with enough figure. Try crotch figure spalted. That often goes wonky...

Haven't see much Hickory Burl that big. If no else has any, there is one seller on etsy (just search Hickory Burl) that has a bit for sale.
I have 3" thick Hickory bowl blanks but they are green and wax sealed. 5 x 5, 6 x 6, 8 x 8, 10 x 10, and 12 x 12.
Have you found yet? I have some medium figure hickory hidden in my shed that I might be able to dig out after I finish a few wooden eggs this weekend...
I'd be interested in any too if someone finds any pieces, count me in as second. 8/4 & smaller is fine

Once I got my temporary paint spray booth taken down I could get to this board. It's only 7/8" thick though and has some tear out on the back due to the figure. It measures 96" x 9" x 7/8". I can cut it or an end of it to fit your needs or make shipping easier if you're not able to pick it up.

No, my money went into a new belt grinder because old grinder kicked the dust. I work at a machine shop now so I should be able to get more goodies soon
Nicely done. Good choice with your hobby being knives. You likely know as much about the actual metal as a lot of 5 year shop veterans.
