Hi folks. I’m on the hunt for some Mountain Mahogany to have turned for turkey call strikers. Pieces must be at least 3/4” thick and 9” long. I’d prefer to have as little sapwood as possible. This is an experiment as I haven’t seen a striker made from this wood.

Lol same here and I'm packing for a trip. Last minute as usual... all my buddies are ready to roll and I'm still asking questions. Haha
Here is a piece that is 12 x 1.25 x 1.25". It caught a bit of pith, but I think is enough over your size that it shouldn't matter. Let me know if interested.

Very clean. Very little rasp on any most surfaces. I have only tried it on a few pots though.
