Glad to be here. This is just some feedback for anyone in the future or for the moderators.
After I signed up and confirmed my email address and read the rules on the site forum / watched the video, I found myself unable to post into any forum. The rules clearly state that a new member needs to post 5 times to obtain conversation / PM privileges but the green Post Thread button wasn't available anywhere, including in this forum to report bugs.
At the bottom right hand of every forum that I visited I would see the message "You have insufficient privileges to reply here." This extended even to the Introductions thread and included my own post introducing myself. I wasn't able to directly reply to the members welcoming me or post a general reply to my post. I was also not able to message a moderator to try and obtain assistance. It was a bit frustrating as it certainly appeared that it was a Catch 22.
I was about to do the unthinkable and post a second introduction with a "help" message when I discovered that I could post to one forum - the photo gallery. I was able to post several pictures to a private gallery (with member access) and after doing so I then had the ability to post to different threads and forums. I still do not have conversation privileges, but will probably have those after more engagement.
There might have been something I overlooked but it was clear that I couldn't post to any forum that would have given me access. I think it might be good to make sure that the instructions on how a new member should be able to post is clear. Had it not been for the photo gallery I would still be looking for a way right now.
