"new posts" weirdness

I updated this thread about an hour ago:

and I was going to make a small edit and rather than open the "wood info" subforum to get back to it, I opened "new posts" figuring it would be near the top bu it's not there. What gives?

Go to recent posts over on the right hand side. once you enter a thread paul it goes off the new post page until someone posts in it. I hope that answers what you are asking.

Since you had already seen the thread there were no new posts in it. Once you read, or post, in a thread it won't appear in the new posts list until someone else posts after you. But you can click New Posts, then once the list comes up you can click Recent Posts on top right side of the list and it will show all new posts and recent posts too in chronological order, including the one you updated.
