So when I open a post and say it's had 20 replies...I'd like to start reading from the beginning however I'm automatically taken to the last post. Any way to stop that

Have you read through the topic before? If you have, it takes you to the last read post.

Are you clicking on the title of the topic?

Are you being directed from an email notification

No there's no way. And on top of that, it takes you (at least it does me) to below the first unread post so I don't see it - have to scroll up. I'm so used to using the PGUP and HOME tabs I don't even think about it. Kind of a pain I realize. I asked our tech about it a long time ago I will ask again next time I talk to him.

Interesting. It takes me to the first unread post. So, if a thread has 500 replies, if I've never looked at it, it takes me to post number 1. Now, if I have read up to post 275, but haven't checked the thread in a long time, it takes me to post 276 even though there are 500 replies. The only time it would take me to post 500 is if I have already read through post 500... In that case, it won't take me to the first post unless I mark it unread.

You can also click there to go to the first post...

Yes, that's exactly how it's supposed to work. Mine does the same thing, except instead of placing the first unread post on my screen, it places the post above and out of view of my screen, so I have to scroll up one post to see it. Other than that it works fine. I would not want it to do what Stump is asking, but it would be nice if the option were there for those members that do want to have the option.

This is because the software was written for normal height people, not midgets. Stand on a chair and it should line up better for you.
