I traded 4 old solar panels for 6 burl slabs. Here are 2 of them. These are 30" x 10"-12" x 2 1/4". I sanded them to 1500. I need ideas to get the most $ out of them.

@Mike1950 knows his way around cutting up burls. Also, you might want to move this thread to the sale (or similar) forum instead of the completed projects forum. If it’s big enough @Alancw expressed interest in redwood burl some time back. Can’t remember if he got some.

I want to make a finished product out of these as is or am wondering if cutting them into pen, knife handles or pistol grip blanks would make more $. They have been sitting in a friends moms basement since the early 80s.

The tight lace parts are very nice. The plain areas, not a lot of value. Redwood is not something I sell. The last one has most value. Cutting them might give you more value but also a lot more work and a LOT more pieces to sell.

To get the most out of those I think you'd need to send at least one of them to me - or at least a 6" wide slice off one end. Yup, just scrolled back up for a second look and for sure, to get a good feel for those I'll need a piece. PM me and I'll send you my address and postage. It wouldn't be fair at all to expect you to pay for the postage.

I will be listing them for $450 on ebay tomorrow. These have way more birdseye than anything listed and have been in storage for 40+ years.
