Ok I'm going to open up a potential Pandora's box...

I get sick of individually re-sizing images... this leads to me being a horrible person and using external image hosting sites, this is a problem because the images can get moved ect and they will not show in the post.

I downloaded a program call multiple image resizer (or something like that). This slowed down my computer somewhat seriously and so it went.

After un-installing that I downloaded this http://imageresizer.codeplex.com/. This allows you to easily resize as many images as you want and it makes a separate copy with a slightly different name and places them next to the old ones in the same folder.

It doesn't have as many features as the other program but it doesn't stuff up my computer.

I know we have paint users out there but what do others use?

Has anyone tried another resizing program with any success? without success?

ScreenHunter!!!!!! LOL... was singing SH's praises a few days ago.

It's free and easy to use. No spam! To use: just press F6 (or whatever key you designate) and it brings up a crop tool and you select your image. It copies the selected area as a lower res pic that is more web friendly.

I've been using it for years and am a big fan. Photoshop and other graphics programs will do the same job. I use Photoshop on a daily basis but when I want to quickly change the resolution of a pic, I use ScreenHunter. (1 click vs. 10 clicks).

Just do a Google search for ScreenHunter and you'll find the link to download the program.

If you have photoshop or any other reasonably good image processing program, you can make a "droplet" or "applet" that will repeatedly do a task...

"resize to 6 inch by 9 inch at 72 pix screen res."
"save file as "old-name+added-number.jpg"
"close"

Then you can just drop the image file onto the applet icon and it will do it automatically.

It's not just for resizing but I have been using XnView for years. (Free dowload). You can resize by size (such as 480X600 or whatever you wish) and also by pixel from say 72 to 60. It will convert most image files including a pdf to a jpg which is helpful with files from on line.
Of course it does the cropping, color correction, etc.

I use PhotoBatch. It's free and does everything I need (which is actually quite a lot)

I actually use my email to resize photos. I am currently using Outlook mail and I right click on the photo and then choose "send to mail recipient". It then asks what size I want to send. When the email comes up, with the resized photos, I just click and drag the photos out of the email window onto my desktop. Tada. :greeting:
