#1 wife asked me to post the question:

Has anyone had any experience with "Restore-a-Finish"

I've seen the can in the store but never used it...

Alan

Never used it, but guessing it's not much different than "Old English" which I have used. It will cover scratches and improve the look of well used furniture, but as a woodworker, I wouldn't say that it "restores" a finish.

I’ve used Watco Rejuvenating Oil and liked it for what it was. I would not say it restored the finish as Tim said, but added moisture and freshened the look of some cabinets and an old roll top desk.

Had to laugh because it sounds like you are “asking for a friend….” Chuck

Don't laugh... I was asking for a "friend"... and to lure some sucker into taking the blame if this stuff doesn't work! Thanks Tim and Gdurfey...

I have learned over the past 48 years of bliss, that I don't know a lot about things that I know a lot about... I can be trusted to hand rub a linseed oil gun stock finish, I have knowledge of how to put 7 layers of thinned varnish sanded and steel wooled between coats, I am thanked for polishing a wooden bowl to a glasslike luster, ...

BUT,

I would not dare to answer a question about a one-easy-step product that purports to restore the original finish by simply painting (basically spilling) the product on a piece of furniture, thereby becoming the envy of all who gaze upon it...

She'll likely buy a can and start restoring all the furniture tomorrow... gotta go hide the guns now...
