Just finished this set made of Bolivian Rosewood. This set features full coverage hand cut checkering (oh, my achin' eyeballs), and fit the full size 1911 frame.

I actually don’t like checkering at all. I like to see the wood. (I know that this gives a different grip) I actually prefer a scalloped grip.
No problem, thanks for the input. Can you describe a "scalloped" grip? That could be something I would consider making.

Thank you Chuck. Everything going good there in "big T" ?
For the most part. Getting time in the shop is a bit of a challenge at times, amidst trying to balance all of life’s demands. But I do have quite a few projects in progress. Fortunately, I have a generous amount of space to work in, reasonably good equipment, and a healthy supply of wood. Chuck

Hmm. I don’t have one for a pic but it’s where you use a wide sweep gouge or wide ball tip on an angle grinder to make a texture that feels like someone pressed stones into the wood.

If you press some smooth stones into some balsa wood or sand you will get the right texture. Don’t push them in far. Just a little and keep them close.

Roger that. Sounds like an interesting effect. Thanks
