It is one of the oldest charming hotel in Hawaii- it bend all the rules where the new hotels would not be allowed to get that close to the water or build that high. There was a rule where you can build only to the highest tree in the property (or in the area).

Iolani Palace has some incredible examples of koa- The Grand Hall staircase is classed in koa, window trims, casings, moldings, paneling, wainscoting, etc…….you don’t want Li’l Mikey @Mike Hill near that place as he won’t be able to contain himself after seeing that much koa……

I pretty much lost any interest in the wood when my bride was so sick and passing and it's taken the last 10 years for me to actually have any interest in anything, the wood, people, life, but I'm back and some overzealous, so please guys, forgive an old fart for having buck fever.

This one had a note with it. Used to kill a Yankee officer at 1500? Yards. I do not remember exact number but it was a very long ways.
