usps tracking down?

For the last 2 days I've been trying to track a package I bought off of eBay and USPS says its tracking is down, anybody else having the same issue?

5300 people reported it down yesterday, only 482 today so it's working for most people today but not all.

Does it matter?

I've never had USPS tracking update anything until after it's been delivered.

I suppose if a package goes south (or in some other opposite direction) then it could be of use but other than that has anyone ever had USPS tracking be useful?

My tracking usually tells me when it is sorted-leaves, arrives, sorted, out for delivery and delivered. Right now it seems it is very slow. I have a package that was mailed on Monday that should be there today. But I am getting no info.

Go to package tracker.com and put your tracking number in there mike, for some reason it works at that site but not usps, also after you get the tracking info there's a button you can hit for refresh to get the up to date info

Mine always updates. Maybe because I have a commercial account I don't know.

Try like I mentioned above and put your tracking number in at package tracker.com it should work there
