@phinds kindly sold me a piece of masur birch. I’ll get 3 hollow forms out of it, this the first. 5 1/4 inch diameter and 4 inch height. Thanks again!

It’s a rare wood that grows in N. Finland and big pieces are uncommon as the trees don’t get very big.

it looks like the hollow form is wearing a necklace around the opening.

Six inch diameter and about 14 inches long. Very kind of @phinds to sell it to me. Turned end grain.
