What kind of finding do you guys use for bottle stopper, razors, and other items, that may get wet? I am clueless as to finishes, other than spray on deft. And I know it doesn't hold up to water. Thanks for any help.

I have not done any razors, but usually use a CA finish or spray poly on stoppers and kitchen items. One of the very first items I turned was an ice cream scoop and it was finished with spray poly. Other than some expected color change in the wood due to age/UV exposure, it's just like the day I finished it. Have also used spray lacquer on stoppers.

For a razor, I'd certainly use a CA finish, but I'd also definitely make sure the ends of the material are also sealed with a little CA.

I have a razor that my son made me three years ago. He used CA and it looks as good today as it did the day he gave it to me.

Thanks guys, I was thinking CA, but wanted to see what other options there were. Looks like I'll be learning to do CA.
