wood blanks

not sure if this is the right sub to post this in, but what are the best places to get turning blanks near Birmingham AL? Mainly looking for kiln dried exotic woods that are 1.5x1.5x8 inches or longer… the only good place I’ve found is woodcraft. Thanks in advance.

I'm looking for a few cheap wood blocks for turning bowls. Since these would be for learning I would defer to an expert the more exotic cuts. Most of the wood I've seen for sale here is rather too beautiful to destroy for someone at my level :)
