Hello. New here. I run a small a small sawmill operation in North Texas as well as being a Novice wood worker. I’ve been a custom knife maker for the last 15 years and one of my favorite parts of knife making has always been walking in the woods with a chainsaw to find a beautiful piece of wood. That endeavor has stuck with me and evolved into me and my son building our own sawmill last year. We are in the process now of building our DH kiln. We have plenty of pecan, walnut, honey locust, and box elder to keep the mill busy. Thanks for letting me introduce myself and look forward to being part of this community.

WELCOME! From Michigan. :welcome2:
I would love to see some of your knives and other work. We love pics here.
That box elder is just beautiful. The founder of this site used to process a lot of that for turning stock.

Appreciate it. Below is just a sample of some of my knives. Currently setting the knife making to the side for a little bit to pursue the wood working. It’s time to learn some new skills. I’ll return to it in due time.

Hey, Travis, welcome to the forum. That's some gorgeous box elder and I like you knives.

Just FYI, it's normal here to name the wood with each pic of wood or of an object you have made from wood.

First off, welcome from Middle Tennessee - formerly from Central Texas! Gig-em if you know what I mean! Most of the time I'm not the biggest fan of FBE - that is until I see stuff like that!!!! Got some awesome hamons there, but that handle on the first knife mesmerizes me!

Haha. Thank you. I still have a few more logs like this to mill up. Just let me know what you’re looking for. Good to see some fellow north Texans.

Welcome! Beautiful knives and wood! Beware of that Don feller, he may be a Texan now but only because he was evicted from the islands.
