Sorry, I could not resist.
Canyon lands is impressive. We did Moab, arches also. And million dollar road in Co. Not for faint of heart. But views were fantastic. Enjoy
Yep, Canyonlands, Arches and Capital Reef are on the list. Bryce is a bit too far for this visit since we are oriented east. And we've done Zion.

By the way, on this recent trip to Texas, I did get to see a no kidding Road Runner, so my heart is full....
When we were living just outside of Midland, Tx many decades ago, I like to think we had a regular for about 5 years and a few those years we saw babies trotting along behind. I loved seeing that thing. And I also thought, you out smarted that Wile E. coyote again!!

Understand about the connection to Denver. We always connect, but have been lucky to recently go through Dallas most of the time. Yep, I hate that short trip to Denver. Was lucky when I was flying business the majority of the time it was to SLC and a direct flight on Delta was available. Summer is also worse time for that connection due to thunderstorms.

Going to be a great trip.

Did you watch the Nature show on last week about raptors? It included a little segment about what IS a raptor and the last word was 'if it kills and eats other vertebrates, it's a raptor'. Kind of a loose definition. But since the roadrunner's main prey is lizards, frogs, toads and snakes (as well as other baby birds like quail), it would be a raptor.

Did not Doug. After Big Bend we spent a few days at Cibolo Creek Ranch just north of Shafter Tx and about 40 miles south of Marfa. No TV. I commend it if you ever get the chance.

Yeah, looking at that picture it does look like a real killer. This one however, was running around the dinner table looking for handouts.

Great read Tom. Lucky guy! I haven't been to Big Bend in a few decades. Really do love that area - even over into the Chisos and Davis mountains. If it don't bite ya, it'll stick ya or sting ya. There was one place on the river where there was a natural sand slide you could almost slide into the river. Will always have a place in my heart for roadrunners. Seeing them "fight" snakes and eat scorpions endears me to them. Thank you for your service!

Good & interesting read Tom. On time is 10 minutes before the appointed time. Roadrunners are cool to observe . They make an odd clicking call - mysterious until you locate the rascal. thanks for the questions Marc.
