A statement from a news article

I read an article today about toys with magnets being recalled because they can be swallowed. One sentence caught my attention; "If swallowed, the high-powered magnets can attract each other or metal objects inside the body."
I would like to know what metal objects might be inside a child's body?............ Nubs

Yeah butt, should the parents have gotten whatever was swallowed removed before the child swallowed a magnet. I don't think a human body will allow non food items to be stored in their stomach. Correct me if I'm wrong. ........... Nubs

If they are small enough to pass through the digestive tract they will. Mainly, this clause refers to children with implants. While not common it does exist and can cause catastrophic damage to their organs. Imagine they have a pacemaker due to a heart defect. It would kill them.

Kids swallow all sorts of things. Coins are very common. They aren’t ferrous so no attraction there. Unless it’s a steel buffalo nickel.

Also kids with pacemakers shouldn’t be playing with magnets anyway and I’m sure the parents are well aware of that.

Never heard of steel buffalo nickles but during WW 2 Pennie’s were zinc plated steel.
