ALL QUESTIONS & COMMENTS REGARDING NEW SOFTWARE GO HERE

Hmm, no idea. Clearing the cache didn't seem to help. It appears to be only on this computer so I think it's something on my end. Works fine on my laptop. No biggie.
Thanks

On my netbook, all the icons that are missing on yours are little squares with a hexadecimal number in them. I think it must be the font that is used to generate the symbols.

Yeah, actually in firefox, it shows the hex number. In chrome it just shows blank boxes. Maybe it isn't just me then :p

I have been quiet of late as I'm still not back in the shop but I can't seem to find any of my posts.

A closer pic . . .

Dave - I'm not sure what happened here. When I look at your profile in admin setting it shows you have 558 messages or posts. But when I click on your profile page it says zero posts. I'll keep digging

Yeah, it's Firefox that I was using. I'm not sure what it looks like in chrome. What makes me suspect it's a font is that it works fine on my desktop computer.

Dave - when you click on your name below your avatar, that pop-up that you see is called the member card. On it, you'll see "Messages" this is the same as posts in the old software. When I click that I can see all your posts. So you haven't lost them.

When I click it shows only 2 , both posts in this thread :(

Dave I'll see what I can see later but real quick just to show you your posts are still here - here's a screenshot of partially what I see 2 long pages of posts. Trying to get my tractor tire fixed so I can go logging shoulda been gone long ago but this tire decdiedd to blow a plug grrrr . . . .

I get those first two, looks like the rest are in the archives

Dave - I see them too.
Click on your username in the top right corner of your screen.
Then click on the green letters that say "Your profile page"
Then click on the tab that says "postings"
You should see them all

Did it, only shows my posts in this thread, I am guessing I don't have access to the archives.

I reported a bug I'm experiencing a few days ago, not sure if my post was overlooked in the swarm of other messages but I don't see a response to it. (I don't mind if it's classified as "trivial, forget about it", just wasn't sure it had been seen.)

The icons are due to an update in the icon framework changing how they load fonts. Can be easily fixed.

Are you using a mobile device or a pc?

While I really like having the banner/strapline (the Forums/Members one) fixed at the top of the screen, I've noticed that it has side effects in a couple of places.

(1) clicking the "take me to the first unread post in this thread" button -- it takes me there, but the first couple of lines are obscured by the banner/strap;

(2) similar thing when I click to go to one of the sub-sections of the forum list from inside a thread -- the gray line under the Woodbarter banner says "Forums > Woodturning > General Woodturning Discussion". Click on "Woodturning", and it takes me to that section of the Forums index -- or it would, if the static strapline wasn't covering the top half inch of the screen.

I think there were a couple more places on the site where this happens to me. FWIW ... I encountered the exact same problem when I built a website with a static banner area at the top of the page -- hrefs to an anchor within the page used the 0,0 co-ordinate of the entire screen and I had to code a fixed scroll amount to get the display how I wanted it to be.

It happens when I'm using a MacBook running both FireFox and Safari, and using a PC running Internet Explorer.

What happens when you try this -- click on the link "Important Site Information" in the strap across the bottom of the screen ...

Does it take you to this ...

(which is what I'm getting)

... or to this (which is after I scroll the display by an amount equal to the depth of the "FORUMS | MEMBERS" banner across the top of the screen):

Duncan, other than the landing spot which is obviously off by a little anytime you click an internal site link, is that the only problem you're having? Until you popsted these images I couldn't really follow what you were asking.

It *is* annoying that the links don't position the page properly though. I have it on a list. I know that doesn't help until we get it fixed but we'll get it fixed eventually.

Yes, just the landing spot. Sorry if I gave the impression it was multiple issues, they are all the same thing but manifest on several different actions.

If it helps, the way I coded it on my wife's website was by including this Javascript in the basic template of all pages:

var myBoolean=new Boolean(); // use this to track if mouseout is to scroll
function scrollWindow()
{
if (myBoolean)
{
window.scrollBy(0,-315);
myBoolean = false;
}
}

and make the clickable items this way:

<a href="#benefits" onclick="myBoolean=true;" onmouseout="scrollWindow();return false">Yada yada yada</a>
The "scrollBy" amount was something I determined by trial and error.

There's probably a much better way of solving it, but with my limited HTML I wasn't able to find anything.
