ALL QUESTIONS & COMMENTS REGARDING NEW SOFTWARE GO HERE

We need a PM button at the bottom of everyones post bit beside the warn report or beside the like reply buttons. That is probably doable I ask Mike - making a list actually.
 
Kevin, you had mentioned somewhere that you where going to change the pics back to thumbnails again to save band width, and that's understandable. But I have a suggestion if it's possible, when we click on a thumbnail to enlarge the pic for viewing can we also have a slideshow option so we don't have to close each thumbnail and then open the next one and then close etc. ? Might be kinda cool to have a slideshow option, dunno?
 
I was just about to ask if it'd be possible to add a "new posts" button at the bottom of the page because after reading a long thread I then had to scroll all the way back up to the top to hit that button again.

As if by magic, the banner at the top of the forum is now frozen in place ... thanks! :D

Obviously it wasn't me for two reasons... I'm a computer moron, and more importantly, the test account name generates a different image in my head(sarcasm).

Mike, another thing I need to know how to do fairly quickly is make the name, location, and first post in intro section all mandatory. Is that easy?
 
Just wondering...

I just tried to upload a photo as my avatar.
I must be doing something really wrong, cause I'm down to a photo that is 12x12 pixels and I'm still getting a file too large 'error message'?(BTW, the file is only 144pixels total...but I can't see it due to the it's too small size)

Any help? What did I do wrong?(Guess I should say with the photo, I've done a lot of stuff wrong)

Am on my phone and can't see what I am typing. The reply window is covered up by the keyboard. I am trying to sesrch for my posts but the site can't find any posts older than two days ago. Am I sesrching incorrectly?
 
I keep getting an error message "The remote server sent an unknown response. This could be a result of forum software plugin being outdated or having a conflict?
This sux because I use this APP on my android phone to view stuff here and it hasn't worked since the software change on Tuesday, Is that being looked into?? is there something I need to do on my phone?? :(
 
Try going directly to woodbarter.com. The new software is fully integrated and you no longer need to use Forum Runner. I read that in another thread.
 
Read through the " All questions go here" thread. Answers a lot of questions and just good general info.
 
Right! The reply box needs to get bigger as we type....
and could we have the option of the banner? It is a hinderance on my screen.

Anyone having troublewith alerts? It wont let me click on them. It just goes back to the page I was opened on.

I have no idea what i just said till it posts....
 
Ripjack, at the top hit "New Posts" the move to the right and you will see "recent posts". That will update you so you can see the post you just made.
 
I dont know if this is answered, so i will ask. Why i cant see forum logged of? I need to log in to see the posts and everything.

Good point. I used to be able to just cruise through without taking the time to log in. I did this a lot especially on my phone. Can't do it anymore. This will also stop new potential members from being able to cruise the site and look around. A lot of people lurk about for a while before taking the plunge and signing up. I think this is important if it can be restored.
 
The permissions with this new software is one area that is going to take me a long time to learn. They are everywhere, confusing, and are not always working the way I set them (Cause I don't understand them all completely). When we first went live we had the guest feature is allowed by default and we started getting spammed right away and I could figure out the perms for that group, so I deleted the entire group. That's one of the things I've been doing this a.m. but if I can't get it figured out I'll ask Mike to fix that for us.

I also am experiencing quite a bit of lag in my screen. I assure you I am not a typist and I am typing wwwaaaayyyyyfaster than the site can keep up. It also has hung up a couple of times and taken 1-2 minutes to get moving again. Just an FYI. Thanks for what you do.

I can type pretty fast for a guy but I am no where near experiencing the symptoms you guys are. Wonder what is up with that? Hopefully we can get the visitor thing worked out so we can get more people looking at the forum and start growing the member list again.
 
Funny how that decides to pick on us randomly. My lag disappeared after Mike deleted the archive of our old site off the server yesterday evening. We went from 90% full on the disk to where it is currently at 74% and all my speed came back immediately. I don't think your issue is the server speed. But then again, when I was having lag yesterday most others weren't. I don't claim to have it figured out. o_O

Keep me apprised though if you will.
