How do you unsubscribe from a thread? I have the " Watch this thread..." button but it doesn't DO anything (it clicks/unclicks but has no effect)
I'm not sure if this is what you're talking about, but there is at the top right just above the first post of a page it says in tiny letters "Unwatch Thread". If I click that it pops up with a warning asking me if I really want to unwatch it. Maybe that would do it? haven't tried it.

As I said, I HAVE the "unwatch" button, but it doesn't DO anything. I get no warning asking do I really want to unwatch.

If I click it, I do get the pop-up asking if I really want to stop watching the thread. I don't have my subscribe options selected though so maybe it only sends you an email on the threads you're watching if you have your subscribe options chosen. All of that is in your control panel under preferences.

I have all my options set so that I will receive email notification when someone replies to a thread I'm subscribed to ("watching"). I see no options for changing the utility of the unsubscribe ("stop watching") button. It just doesn't work.

I looked in group permissions this morning and i don't see any options pertaining to ability to watch or unwatch. In that same location I have a watch option but no unwatch option. I'll keep looking

Paul, I made some changes to your account. I don't know if it had any effect but try it. If not, just so I understand what you're trying to accomplish bear with me, This is one of several parts of the software that is very confusing in the back end, and possibly buggy I don't know yet.

You want to stop receiving emails about this thread (or any thread you choose), correct? You have clicked the unwatch button, "but it doesn't DO anything". After you clicked it, have you still been receiving notifications?

Exactly

You have clicked the unwatch button, "but it doesn't DO anything".
Exactly

After you clicked it, have you still been receiving notifications?

I haven't paid attention to that, but I believe so and in any case, the way I checked was to look at what threads I'm subscribed to, then "unwatch" a thread and then see if I'm still subscribed to it, and yes I am.

I did this again just now to see if there was any change from yesterday and no there is not.

EDIT: and I've now checked and indeed I do continue to get email notifications for threads to which I have unsubscribed.

Okay thanks for clearing me up on that. I'm working on it but may not get it fixed right away . . . . .

No hurry. Hey, while you're at it, could you get rid of all those really obnoxious tiny fonts? Us old guys like readable fonts.

So, why is it that when I make a post, or even start a new thread, and then hit "new posts" my "new post" or new thread isn't anywhere to be found? I have to "search forums" to find my thread or post?

Edit - Starting to wonder if I am missing other new posts now.

Butch

hmm. mine just adjusts page by page. Different strokes.

I assumed you meant a permanent setting. I'm certainly not going to go to an extra step for every WB page I look at.

It's not a WB thing Paul it's a computer trick that Barb is talking about. "CTRL +" makes a page bigger. "CTRL -" Takes an entire freaking .5 milliseconds.

Butch, once you make a post you have already seen it, so not considered a new post by the software. There's a Recent Posts top right though. I've got that on the list to be moved to the Nav bar next to New Posts though to make it more convenient for us.

Hey Boss. How can you tell if someone is still online? Thanks-----------Ray

My "new post" doesn't seem to update. At least like it did on the old system. Comments, Suggestions? Sorry if it's already been discussed...

Yes, I know what she's talking about, but it doesn't just change that one page, it changes ALL pages until you reload the browser. That is it's not page-specific, it's app-specific and I typically have several pages open at once. Why have the forum use such tiny fonts? I see it as a forum problem, not a browser problem.
