Have a good friend wanting a muddler made with American Chestnut, looking for 1.5" square x 12" long. Would buy a bigger piece and can resaw to size myself if that's easier. Prefer something already dry as they want it soon. Willing to or trade for some.

I'll have to look and see. Probably be Tuesday when I'm off and get back from grabbing some FBE i saw today that was cut down.

Hi @NCWoodArt I've got it. I got genuine American from reclaimed barn beams that I've used for turning with very nice straight grain, and I have some hybrid American/Chinese. PM if you want.

let me know how much for a piece at least 1.5" square or bigger and 12" long, would buy a bigger piece and cut it down. Prefer it be american chestnut non hybrid. I can stabilize it myself if need be.

American, I've got this piece. How about $15 + shipping? Its American chestnut from an old barn reclaimed long ago. It's about 1 7/16 square. There is a nail hole that I stuck a nail in so you can see it in 2 of the pictures. There's 2 lengthwise cracks you can see in the photos and from the 2 end shots you can see how deep they go (may 3/16"). If your completed piece is 1 1/4 you should be OK. If the nail hole is a problem, I can cut you blank 1 7/16 x 12" from another piece I have for $20? IMG_8808.webp
