Any chance that....

It works for me as is, but I can understand the rationale for grouping things together. Marcus's recent HRB threads would be a great example of a place where multiple threads might be 'cleaner' if combined under a single sale thread. I personally don't want a policy about the topic, but I do see occasions where consolidation would make the sale and trade forums a little less jumbled.

On the flip side, I'm sure it's easier from a seller's prospective to keep things straight when threads are separated for individual pieces.

In other words, there's probably not a perfect system for both sides of a given deal... That's my $.02(before taxes).

I second That David- keeping something like my guitar blanks in one thread can grt very confusing- well at least for the :old:

I second that

Thirding it :)

I'll agree that that can get confusing and posts could be missed. The 'new post' functionality shows them up, of course, but it's still easily missed as being something really new.

I'm not sure if it's more confusing to have multiple 'Oak For Sale' threads or new pieces tacked on to the end of an existing thread.

Adding new pieces to and existing thread would be confusing for sure! The thing I think can easily be done would be to list all similar items you want to sell in one thread right off the bat. For example if you have 5 items that are the same/similar and you want to sell them all they can easily be put in one thread to start rather than start a thread. Sell the first item then add another sell it. Add another etc...

I am not talking start a thread this month and then come back to it in 3 months to add another similar item. In those types of cases it would be best for a new thread.

Exactly -- I have no problem at all understanding offers that have many items all listed at the same time in the first posts(s).

What you go on to describe thusly ...
Sell the first item then add another sell it. Add another etc...
... is exactly the thing that turns me off. It makes no difference if it's 2 hours later or 2 months later -- I look to the first post (or 2 or 3 if there are multiple pix) in the thread for "what's this all about". Don't go changing the offer after it's started unless you want to lose me.

Everyone has their own style- we probably should just accept that and be movin on........................:kumbaya::drinks2:

And what is with the 'pretend to be adult' and 'schoolyard BS' thing?
If you don't like me for whatever reason, stop beating around the bush and say it or ban me!

Sometimes the lack of smilies can really make or break a joke. I've never known you and I to have so much as a cross word one time, so I probably took too much liberty in assuming you'd catch the sarcasm. Sorry about that.

Looks like to me most members are not having a problem with the way things are right now. But as I have mentioned, although it will be a while, changes are coming - pretty sure they will be considered for the better but I don't want to assume that either - assuming gets me in a lot of trouble sometimes!
