Glad I switched to android phones a few years ago 
Makes me glad I've kept my iPad on iOS 6 and went to android for everything else 
Brink don't know if you tried this - you p[robably have but . . .
Reports of technical issues are par for the course whenever Apple upgrades its mobile OS.
In lieu of simpler and more specific fixes, one suggested solution is to reset your settings back
to their default values to see if the problem clears up.
The next step usually involves resetting
your entire device back to factory settings (make sure to back up all your content in iTunes first)
and then restoring it from your backup.

Android was there right out of the box a year ago, no need to bend it yourself

Ooooohhhh boy!!
Moma finally installed pOS 8 on her iPad. Now it's locked in iTunes mode and needs to be recovered via a PC.
Dang she's mad, and headed out of town until Sunday.

From what I can gather most of the issues relate to available storage and memory. I have had several folks move pics to the cloud or a hard drive, unused apps removed etc and cleared up some memory and resolved a lot of issues after a hard reboot.

iOS 8.1 has been pulled.

iOS 8.0.2 worked
So if they pulled it, how'd you get it to work?

8.0 was bad, immediately, they brought out 8.0.1, which was woreser, now it's 8.0.2 which is ok.
I take 1/2 a Viagra every morning so I don't wet my shoes as much, if that's what you wanted to know.
Brink - I'm not getting any updates or notifications of updates. Where the hell are you getting updates?
