This was supposedly Bastogne Walnut. It’s a 12x3 bowl. You can see in the center a circular indentation. That was from my vacuum chuck “foam failing when I had reverse chucked it to finish the bottom. My hand was on the tailstock when it happened and I just tightened it as it was happening to keep it from coming off. Thinking of using a damp rag and iron to bring the indentation out but not sure what it will do to the finish which is Tried and True original, wiped on, let set for 10 minutes, then buffed dry.

That's nice. I like the maple more but this is still amazing.

That just proves that walnut isn't always the king.

Another big win! Again, love the size. And, gotta love Walnut! Think you could sand out that unfortunate indentation. Chuck

That's a pretty piece of clean Walnut. That mark you made would be real easy to remove if you had enough bottom and a small foot rim using a TSS. But, sand paper would be a lot cheaper than my invention. Videos are available on Youtube. My website is in the signature line. click and stat looking.
@ripjack13, am I violating any rules promoting my tools? ........... .......... Nubs

If that really came from Bastogne, it's seen some history.
Sadly no. It is black walnut grown in the US that is somehow special. Typical wood naming. Though in this case it does usually denote quality of some kind and is not a random name to gain attention.
