That sixth? slab (4:30) is crazy! Wonder why they used the ladder every cut? Usually it's only on the first cut.
It doesn't drag as bad on the ladder. Also the variance doesn't multiply through each slab. Kinda like using the sawmill frame to provide a point of reference. Also, you don't have to reset the thickness of your mill if you continue to use the ladder.

Mappa burl is actually not that rare. I can walk to work and every two or three minutes I will see a tree with a burl on it that is at least half a meter in diameter. (1.5-2 feet)

In Europe a log like that would go for around 1000-1500 bucks. An oak log of the same size would go for 3000-4000 bucks.
