Cool looking piece of wood. The shape doesn't resonate with me, but that's because I think it is missing something.
Even though I know you haven't used finials on your pieces (at least that I can remember), I wonder how this would look with a very short "lid" supporting a horizontal, asymmetrical "finial".
I'm not suggesting this picture is an example of what would fit your piece, just an example of an horizontal "finial" or handle.

As do most hollow forms with small bases. I won’t take it on a ship. And I make the bottom a bit thicker.
