Ocooch has added Blue Beetle Pine to their list of species if anyone is looking. I know its not the easiest to find, and the price is very good as usual. Who knows how long their stock will last.

Ocooch notes that they cultivate the blue fungus staining, as opposed to it being a natural byproduct of beetle infestation...not sure if this impacts value but figured it was worth pointing out in case. I personally only care about the color, so I already have a stack heading my way!

I thought it was difficult to keep Pine from blue staining? Summer cut lumber will turn in days without proper handling.Maybe it is a regional thing?

No idea 🤷🏻 i don't pay softwoods much attention usually. The white pine i cut up from my yard got stained while drying but it's not blue.. It's more brown/gray to green. We shall see just how blue this blue pine from ocooch is. I noticed the janka hardness they listed for it was piss poor, so it's a pretty soft pine unfortunately.
