nature really produces very few if any blue flowers- no reason for her to make blue wood...

As others have said, there is no blue wood other than blue stain or "rainbow" poplar that might have some blue areas in the mineral stain and that doesn't last. "Blue" mahoe only rarely shows any blue at all and that doesn't last.

Green is another color that is rare, but not as bad as blue. Verawood and mineral stained poplar come to mind for green.

I DID once have a piece of amazing green poplar (mineral stain) where the color lasted for a long time

Here's a bowl made from it. It sat on a shelf in my basement (no sunlight) for months before being sold.
