Blue wood!!! Truly deep, dark and rich blue wood!

While biking in Bretagne (France) I came across a guy splitting firewood. My French is really bad but he had some English so when I saw him split open a round of wood to reveal this unnatural blue Color I knew I needed some. As I am on holiday I can’t really take much so I asked him how much he wanted for the topmost chunk. He gave it to me for free. (What a nice guy!)

I’m not sure what I’m gonna do with it considering it’s still extremely wet but it is very interesting.

It seems like it is stained from some kind of chemical in the ground but the Color goes all the way through and is truly amazing for wood.

Either ash or oak. Hard to tell and I haven’t taken a good look yet. All chainsaw marks and split surfaces. It’s heavy and ring porous and grows in northern France so the species are quite limited.

My only answer to that can be “Pahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha” I laughed for at least half a minute straight after reading that. Really good.
