Decided yesterday to round off the corners on a few of the many square bowl blanks in my inventory. Been hankering to make sawdust from a saw in the workshop. Here was the result! Chuck IMG_3889.jpeg

Nice collection, all those Hawaiian woods brings back memories. You’ll like the kou and ulu best, won’t like the ohia.
Thanks! The Ohia was the toughest to cut of all the wood species yesterday, must be incredibly hard. I'm just finishing up on an Ulu bowl, and it is delightful to turn. The Hawaiian woods I picked up from @Kalai late last year. Lots of fun ahead! Chuck

Ohia takes a great polish—bought some on this site. This is just some tung oil, no buffing.

Great to know. When I cut the corners off yesterday, my mind went to what type of finish to apply when it is turned. I suspect it might have an oily nature. Your hollow form is exquisite! Chuck

Some fun wood there. I’m drooling.
