Thanks! The Ohia was the toughest to cut of all the wood species yesterday, must be incredibly hard. I'm just finishing up on an Ulu bowl, and it is delightful to turn. The Hawaiian woods I picked up from @Kalai late last year. Lots of fun ahead! ChuckNice collection, all those Hawaiian woods brings back memories. You’ll like the kou and ulu best, won’t like the ohia.
Great to know. When I cut the corners off yesterday, my mind went to what type of finish to apply when it is turned. I suspect it might have an oily nature. Your hollow form is exquisite! ChuckOhia takes a great polish—bought some on this site. This is just some tung oil, no buffing.
