A couple years ago on here i bought a small piece of box elder burl and am just getting around ŧ make something from it. If all goes well, it'll be a a small candy dish.
I don't remember who I bought it from, but I'd like to find more..... anybody have an idea who might have some?

Thanks for any tips

Looking for flame as well? One of the guys from Wyoming always had some, but, been over a year since he has been on. Maybe some one else will be able.

If it was Red, it probably came from Alan in Mt. Has not been around here for a while nor has he been selling wood.
I have some elder. Nice but low yield. Normally the red burl is dicey. Wind shake and rot. At least from up here. I will watch as I cut through piles.

Alan is who I had in mind, just had him in the wrong state.

What size you looking for? I have some, mostly with flame.

I'm just trying to replace a small slab of a burl that I bought on here several years ago. I just finished a small serving platter and would like to find a "slab" a couple inches thick and maybe 12" x 18" or so. Or just an interesting piece. I you have any photos post them.....I'm pretty easy and always looking for something a bit out of the ordinary...
Thanks

Sorry for the delay! Life...

This piece is 11.5" x 5.75" x 1.75", super dry as seen by the scanner at 3/4" depth. One end has some checks in it that I marked, so to be safe, consider roughly 1.25" to not be usable on the length. Couple other small voids, then the usual small voids seen in burl. Wet with alcohol in the last two. Asking $30 plus shipping for this one. Just over 2lbs. 20260418_125928.jpg 20260418_125936.jpg 20260418_125951.jpg 20260418_125959.jpg 20260418_130011.jpg 20260418_130348.jpg 20260418_130353.jpg 20260418_130436.jpg 20260418_131252.jpg 20260418_131316.jpg
